Having incredible love and passion for the rarest textiles of the world, Lois Hill has gone went with the idea of incorporating these weaving techniques into her signature way of creating and designing jewelry. Thus, the Lois Hill weaves collection which features jewelry ranging from earrings to watches that share a common bond.
Among the weave techniques that she has employed is a weaving technique that’s straight out of the 18th century. This is the continuous wire weave that is hand woven from a single piece of wire. This technique can produce anything from a ring to a belt and since it’s handmade, a single belt can actually take a whole month to finish. Among the most prominent in the Lois Hill weave collection are the ones that originate from the hill tribes that are located in Northern Thailand. This weave is made up of small jump rings that are interwoven like textile that are so intricate that only about an inch a day can actually be hand-woven.
